What are Experience Days?

Experience Days are an opportunity for schools to provide their students with a first hand taste of what studying at a TAFE can involve.
Students participate in three one hour interactive workshops where they get hands on in supervised activities that simulate real classroom and workplace scenarios. 
When and where are they held?

Bendigo TAFE
Thursday 14 July       - Echuca campus. 
Thursday 21 July       - Dual campus (Charleston Rd & Bendigo city). 

Kangan Institute
Friday 29 July            - Broadmeadows campus. 
Tuesday 2 August     - Richmond campus 
Thursday 4 August    - Docklands campus. 
Friday 12 August       - Broadmeadows campus 

We will organise and cover the cost of return bus hire to our campuses.
How do they run?

Workshops will follow the below schedule.

Schedule
10am – 11am     – Workshop 1
11am – 12pm     – Workshop 2
12pm - 12.45pm – Lunch supplied         
12.45 - 1.45pm   – Workshop 3

We will organise and cover the cost of lunch for school groups (Vegetarian and Halal options available)

Workshops that we offer include the below.

Allied Health: 
Activities in this workshop can include checking pulses, heart beat, infection control and hand sanitisation.

Animal Studies & Primary Industries:
 Activities in this workshop can include simulated pet CPR and planting seedlings.

Automotive: 
Activities in this workshop can include changing a tyre and welding simulation.

Auto Electrical Workshop (Docklands only): 
Activities in this workshop can include building your own test light.

Paint and Panel Workshop (Docklands only): 
Activities in this workshop can include designing and printing your own decal bumper sticker.

Auto Combination Workshop (Docklands only): 
Activities in this workshop can include changing a tyre, a welding machine simulation and a Vehicle Emissions Lab demo .

Beauty Services:
Activities in this workshop can include hand massages, manicuring and nail prep and polish.

Carpentry: 
Activities in this workshop can include building a birdhouse or bookends.

Electrical: 
Activities in this workshop can include feeding a cable through a conduit to replicate a common workplace scenario.

Engineering: 
Activities in this workshop can include imprinting sheet metal.

Fashion Design:
Activities in this workshop can include the creation of a mood board.

Hospitality: 
Activities in this workshop can include making mocktails, cooking pasta, tempering chocolate and baking bread.

Hairdressing:
Activities in this workshop can include hair styling on mannequins or a partner.

Justice 
Activities in this workshop can include assessing a simulated crime scene and memory recall.

Plumbing
Activities in this workshop can include joining pipes and fittings.

Visual Merchandising:
Activities in this workshop can include the design and display of a simulated window front.

Security: 
Activities in this workshop can include items screening through a detector.
